Painting "Untitled"

Quality: Very good - slight wear, commensurate with age
A large, vintage artwork, oil on hardboard "Untitled" by Harry van de Boel, The Netherlands 1988.  A colorful, expressive, abstract artwork dating back to the eighties. This work shows some of the elements which can be categorized as "typical" in his works; the use of bright colors and rough strokes creating a deep, rich, multi-layered painting.

Harry van de Boel (Thorn 1928 – Amersfoort 2015) was a painter, watercolourist, draughtsman, ceramic artist and monumental artist, and also produced mosaics. He is best known as a potter, sculptor and painter who worked in the spirit of the Cobra movement. His versatile body of work and technical skills continued to develop throughout his career. Van de Boel’s paintings are characterised by a colourful and imaginative palette. Human figures and animals often form the main subject, while water scenes flow just as naturally and vividly from his brush.
